BILINGUAL CRIMINAL DEFENSE INVESTIGATOR
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented person to join our team in the Houston, TX area. This is a part-time position with an opportunity to become full-time as the company grows. We will train, but compensation is commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates must be excellent communicators (in both English and Spanish) and have the flexibility to operate in a variety of environments—including high crime areas. Critical thinking, attention to detail, objectivity, and professionalism are absolutely essential.
Conduct professional criminal defense investigations for our clients.
Perform case reviews to determine case objectives and priorities.
Develop investigative plan of action.
Conduct research (legal, open source, social media, database, etc.).
Review court, public, and private records.
Obtain documentation and evidence relevant to investigations.
In-person interviews, to include complainants and their witnesses.
Conduct jail interviews.
Obtain written and recorded statements.
Obtain quality video and photographs.
Write comprehensive investigative reports.
Complete case objectives within budgetary constraints.
Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times.
Testify in court as a witness.
Conduct other investigations as needed (i.e. domestic, civil, employment).
Assist supervisors and co-workers on case activity.
Assist with marketing.
Must meet all State of Texas requirements to be registered as a private investigator, including a State and Federal background check.
Bilingual (English/Spanish). Able to speak, read, and write fluently.
Strong computer and internet skills to include proficiency of Word and Excel.
Must possess a computer with Word, Excel, and an internet connection.
Must possess a digital voice recorder.
Able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
Dependable transportation. This job requires a great deal of driving (mileage reimbursement).
Willing to work varied/irregular hours and days, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
Willing to travel as necessary—sometimes on short notice.
Must be an excellent communicator.
Must have a professional appearance.
Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field (i.e. Legal Studies).
Investigative or Legal experience.
